February 27, 2012 - Curated. unveils Interior Project for "C6" by LivingHomes at TED2012 Conference

Curated. unveils their interior project of environmentally conscious furnishings, objects and lighting for C6, a low cost, sustainably-designed, prefabricated home by LivingHomes, being exhibited at the TED2012 Conference from February 27 through March 12, 2012.

C6 is First Energy Star Certified Production Home with LEED Platinum Status. Curated. treated the interior project for the 1,200 s.f., 3 bedroom, 2 bath, model residence as an art installation, assembling furnishings loaned by a select group of environmentally-conscious, local vendors. Ecologically friendly sourcing and innovative lighting combined with clever juxtapositions and humorous gestures are the hallmarks of Curated. design projects.

For the C6 interior design project, Curated. focused on reclaimed, recycled, reused and sustainably harvested furnishings, flooring and lighting. Repurposed wood furnishings, recycled deck flooring, locally produced Plumen low-energy light bulbs, hand-crafted LED lighting from Cerno, Emeco aluminum bar stools, (80% recycled aluminum, 40% post-consumer recycled material and 40% post-industrial recycled material) and graphic rugs made from recycled plastic are among the eco-minded furnishings. Witty gestures include a graphic headboard featuring the quote: "The best things in life are not things", and a bedroom banner display that reads: "The future is not what it used to be".

LivingHomes is the premier developer of modern, sustainable, prefabricated Homes. C6 is LivingHomes first zero-energy, zero-carbon production home with LEED Platinum status. From energy-efficient light bulbs and appliances, furnishings, flooring and other building materials made from recycled products to low-flow water systems, everything has been made green or as close to "zero" as possible with zero carbon, zero emissions, and zero waste.
